We are working in partnership with a friendly SEN school located in Lancaster, Lancashire. The school is looking for a qualified and creative Post 16 SEN Teacher to join their supportive and dedicated team. This is a full-time role and to start in September 2022.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Must hold QTS or QTLS
  • Ideally has teaching experience in an SEN school
  • Must have experience teaching children and young people with special needs,
  • Have knowledge of the National Curriculum and how to apply it to teaching in an SEN school setting
  • A positive, proactive and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • A team player and has great communication skills
  • Being able to build up good working relationships with pupils and staff

Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities as well as monitoring and demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and creativity
  • Being committed to the development and delivery of high-quality relationships with pupils, their families and local communities
  • Identifying the pupils’ needs and interests and incorporating life skills with vocational training
  • Providing work experience in the local communities to promote the pupils’ independence and self-confidence
  • Encouraging children to reach their potential and promoting safeguarding and social well-being
